BUDDY tells the enduring tale of music icon, Buddy Holly, and his meteoric rise to fame and final legendary performance at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Iowa, before his tragic and untimely death at the age of 22. In 18 short months, the Texas-born performer revolutionized the face of contemporary music influencing popular musicians like The Beatles and Bruce Springsteen. The musical features two hours of music with over 20 of Buddy Holly's greatest hits, including the timeless classics That'll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, Oh Boy, and Rave On.
Seen by over 22 million people since opening in London's West End in 1989, BUDDY is the on-stage musical hit that inspired a generation of juke-box Broadway musicals including Jersey Boys, Mamma Mia, Million Dollar Quartet, and We Will Rock You.
Writer/Producer Alan Janes says, "Audiences dance in the aisles every night to the enactment of this young man's story whose musical career spanned an all-too-brief period - his music will be remembered forever."
"FORGET ABOUT FEEL-GOOD. BUDDY IS FEEL-GREAT." - Peter Virnie, Vancouver Sun
"SENDS PEOPLE OUT OF THE THEATER ON AN UNSTOPPABLE HIGH...SENSATIONAL." - Steve Morse, The Boston Globe
